An alarach (pronounced AH-lah-rock) is a standalone layer, meta-layer, or cosmos. Although they can be grouped into layer clusters, they're typically a separate unit.

Synonyms to alarch include suniomin and suni.

History

The term alarach comes from a word for the concept in the exosprache/intrasprache spoken by the coiner in fhaer homeworld in fhaer system. "Suniomin" is a derivation of Hurrian (an ancient language of the Middle-East) šuḫniōmīn, a neologism compound combining the words for "wall" and "land", hence "walled land", as a metaphor for the separateness alarachs expereince from each other, and can be shortened to just suni.

Related Terms

Alarach is an umbrella term including different layers, metalayers, or cosmoses, which are each types of headspace (or sometimes gateways).
