An atrium system (or comb system) is one with limited memory sharing. There is a separate reservoir (atrium) of fronting memory that only contains memories made in front and is accessible while fronting. These memories may be detailed or spotty, and may be managed by an archival fragment. Memories of a headmate's own past fronting times may be identical to those of other fronters, they may be more detailed or feel clearer, or they may be supplemented by (a limited amount of) personal memory of the events.
Atrium systems may have front blocks in place at all times, making a headmate have access only to fronting memory while in front and otherwise experience headspace amnesia. Headmates may have their own personal memory of external events they were present for, or they may have to access front memory to recall it.
Front memory may be viewed through a shared perspective, or through "third person view". This may apply to memories of their own past fronting as well.
