An attached sisasystem is a sisasystem that exists attached to a given system member, but not inherently within or inside such a member. The term is similar to sparsystem in that attached sisasystems have similarities to both subsystems and sidesystems, and could be termed a subtype of sparsystem. However, attached sisasystems may have any size or ranking, or fall completely outside of traditional ranking of sisasystems by nesting level and size.
