Calling is when a system's brain or front unconsciously desires fronters with specific characteristics (such as gender or other identities, special interests, or skills) at a given time. This may be anywhere from weak to overpowering, and generally can’t be consciously controlled.[1]

Related Terms

Front preferences are similar to calling, but generally are more of a permanent or unchanging (or at least, less moment-to-moment) phenomenon, and usually not as immediate or intense as calling.
