confuser ( n., adj.)
SynonymsInvalidator, Deflector, Denialist
Applies toheadmates

Confusers are headmates whose role is to purposely misdirect the system from learning about its trauma. This can come in the form of providing false information to professionals, creating contradicting memories, denying the truth to other headmates, and “shutting down” the system, if new memories are accessed in some way. A system may have unique names for different kinds of confusers (invalidators, denial alters, deflectors, disowner, etc.)

Not all confusers know about the trauma itself. Some only know that their job is to lie about it.

This kind of headmate can be created during programming to protect the abusers, but is not exclusive to this type of trauma.
