A cryptoid is usually, but doesn’t always have to be, an individual member of a syncryptoid. They are hidden in some way from the whole system, a part of the system, or people outside of the system. Cryptoids are usually grouped together, whether that be consciously or subconsciously.

They may or may not be aware that they are hidden, and there could be a reason (conscious or subconscious) behind them being hidden.
