A fusiotien system is one where all or nearly all headmates are the result of fusion. They may continue to fuse in the future, or may have plateaued.

Polyfragmentation is commonly associated with fusiotien systems; during integration, a large amount of fragments may fuse together to create more stable headmates.

However, not all fusiotien systems are or were polyfragmented, or the result of purposeful integration efforts.
