Headmate Roulette is when a system uses a tool to randomly select headmates for the purpose of fronting, interacting with others, doing tasks, or anything that the system may need. The term was coined to help systems who can switch easily, but anyone who is plural could use it.

One can also refer to Headmate Roulette as a little game where one picks a headmate and then try to get ones method of doing headmate roulette to select the headmate you were thinking about.

A way to do this is with PluralKit. The command pk;random (shortened to pk;r) selects a member of the system at random.

RANDOM.org offers a List Randomizer where you can make a list of headmates for it to randomize. It could be useful for smaller systems as there is a 10,000 item limit for the list.

History

Voidseers came up with the term when wanting something to call this. It was Headmate Randomizer at first, but then they came up with Headmate Roulette. They used it in-system for a while before asking it to be put on Pluralpedia.
