Introtivium is an abstract concept, closely related to that of the headmate printer, of an "energy" used to create, form, summon, or soulbond new headmates, generally introtives, that can build over time and release itself by creating or soulbonding new headmates, or even entire worlds or alarachs. This energy, while most commonly a metaphor, can be a literal energy or substance as well. The term is NOT exclusive to systems where headmates actually/literally form, rather than being brought into this reality, or simply discovered. Sometimes, introtivium can manifest as a mental pressure or urge to explore one's own headspace or innerworld(s), to find headmates there, or simply document and learn about already known people, perhaps by registering them in PluralKit.
