A leader (lee·dur)[1] is a headmate whose role is to hold executive power. What this means will vary depending on the system. A leader may possess the ability to make important decisions, approve or veto votes, break ties, assign tasks and responsibilities to others, or generally be seen as a voice of guidance and authority. A leader is not a dictator, however: they may be voted into or out of their position depending on their trustworthiness and performance. A leader provides direction and stability, and exhibits positive leadership qualities, such as collaboration, communication, innovation, etc.[2]
