A MaDDbased system is heavily influenced by having Maladaptive Daydreaming Disorder, with it possibly affecting the inner world, headmate roles, or the headmates themselves, but isn't an system origin. For MaDDbased systems, this can mean that the system has a very extensive and vivid inner world, have many headmates that are paratives, have more headmates that daydream as a way to cope, etc.
History
The term was first introduced on February 4 2023 by lovebugcollective, originally called "MaDD System Modifier". Later, it was renamed to MaDDbased from a suggestion in the Discord, retaining the same definition.

MaDDbased systems may be dreamways, have their headspace overlap with their paracosm, have many paratives (including preveras, previmes, parabonds, and more), or otherwise have a direct connection between their daydreams & their system.
