Memory-syncing is a form of memory sharing when a headmate and/or a part of system connects to another part of system that has seperate memories and synchronizes their memory with the other part to full or some extent.

Memory syncing usually happens between memory banks. The lack of synchronization between different memory libraries held by different parts of the psyche could be caused by memory barriers. Memory syncing poses a temporary solution to these barriers and lack of shared memory. This could be experienced by polyconconsicous, hydraconscious or other systems with similar system structure.

Memory syncing could result in the headmates/sub-systems taking a while to fully acquire memories of other part, or what happened in front. This could take seconds to several minutes, the speed/effectiveness of memory syncing could also depend on the headmate/sub-system that is trying to sync.

Memory syncing is not the same as integration, it is not a permanent syncing of memories and only works to acquire some or entirety of the pre-existing memory. Synced parts will acquire and keep the new memory from the other part, but cannot acquire new memories that happened after the sync.

Memory syncing is similar to memory sharing. Memory syncing happens in larger quantities and usually transfers majority/entirety of the memory bank in a 2-way fashion. This means both parties will receive each other's memories rather than one party having acces to another. It could happen on its own when required or it could be initiated.

Some headmates may disable memory-syncing of other headmates. Those headmates are called syncing-disablers, and they may be gatekeepers, protectors or caretakers that disable the memory syncing for the sake of the headmate.

Trauma-holders or Memory holders with their own seperate memories from the system may also have their memory bank not easily synchronizable to other systemmates/parts of mind. Their memories may require permission or someone else's assistance to gain access to.

Memory syncing could be made between sub-systems, sisa-systems, subplexes and alike.

Memory syncing could also be experienced by Atrium Systems whom has seperate fronting memories that could not be fully or partially accessed from the back. This disabling mechanism is called a front block. A memory syncing could be experienced when a headmate connects with the fronting memory in an Atrium System or alike. In this case, the memory syncing happens every time a headmate connects to the front (aka a switch) memory syncing could cause switch to happen more slowly. Fronter may take longer to fully stabilize when they are still syncing.

Memory syncing is not exclusive to traumagenic and/or disordered systems.
