Mergegenic (murj·jen·ik)[1][2] is an origin term for a headmate who formed as a result of a merge or fusion. A mergegenic headmate is not the merge/fusion themself. Rather, they are their own separate person, who is able to exist regardless of whether or not the original merge components are currently merged.
Term Origin
This term comes from the word “merge,” meaning “to combine or unite into a single entity."[3] The suffix -genic describes system origins.

Merging or fusion is when two or more headmates temporarily or permanently combine into one.
Incarnagenic headmates are those formed through non-harmful merging or splitting.
History
"Mergegenic" was coined by the Felight system in January 2023, as they were unable to find a term that described the origin of their tulpa Piano Soul, who formed through a now-defunct merge in 2017.
