Mergegenic (murj·jen·ik)[1][2] is an origin term for a headmate who formed as a result of a merge or fusion. A mergegenic headmate is not the merge/fusion themself. Rather, they are their own separate person, who is able to exist regardless of whether or not the original merge components are currently merged.

Term Origin[edit | edit source]

This term comes from the word “merge,” meaning “to combine or unite into a single entity."[3] The suffix -genic describes system origins.

Related Terms[edit | edit source]

Merging or fusion is when two or more headmates temporarily or permanently combine into one.

Incarnagenic headmates are those formed through non-harmful and non-consuming merging or splitting.

History[edit | edit source]

"Mergegenic" was coined by the Felight system in January 2023.
