Synonyms | multigenic (adj.), polygenic (adj.) |
Applies to | systems, headmates |
Mixed origin refers to a system that has multiple different system origins. This could be because their system formed from a combination of factors, or that not all of their headmates are of the same origin.
Related Terms
Mixed origin systems can be a combination of unknown, adaptive, spontaneous, or created. It can also be used like praesigenic, denoting a system with complex or hard to define origins.
If a system has one primary origin but ultimately multiple causes among headmates, the term isoscegenic may apply. There's also much overlap with polygenic and pangenic.
