Mixed system refers to a system with both median and multiple headmates; a system that is a mix between median and multiple.

In mixed systems, facets coexist with multiple (or partitionary) headmates, and in some cases, floating facets.

This term is not to be confused with mixed origin.

Hybrid (system, plural, etc.) and chimera (system, plural, etc.) are synonyms for this term, coined by extranth on Tumblr.[1]
