The term neuronarrative refers to the intense, divergent imaginings of fantasy-prone people.[1] These extensive daydreams are often accompanied by a repetitive activity, although these daydreams/narratives are not necessarily maladaptive and do not necessarily make it difficult for someone to live their life.

In other words, the term has no negative connotations. All maladaptive daydreamers are neuronarrators, but not all neuronarrators are maladaptive daydreamers.

Immersive Daydreaming and neuronarration are similar enough to be considered synonyms, but have some nuances that differentiate the two. While neuronarration is specifically associated with neurodivergence, immersive daydreaming is more seen as an innate trait separate of other conditions. Neuronarration as well is considered positive, while immersive daydreaming is inherently neutral but is positive for many.
