Polymultiple is a system that has a complex structure with many layers and/or sisasystems and is primarily multiple/partitionary.[1]

The "multiple" used here does not refer to the large plural umbrella but to the specific experience of having distinct headmates, as compared to median & OSDD-1a systems.

Related Terms[edit | edit source]

This term is meant to mirror polyfragmented, but replaces -fragment with -multiple to apply to people who would otherwise fall under the polyfragmented label but do not have a lot of fragments.

Polyplural refers to any large system, whether they are partitionary or not; in addition, polyfaceted & polyfragmented describe similar phenomena. The poly- prefix is often used to indicate a system of 100 or more members, and it may be exchanged for the magni-, kilio-, or astra- prefixes to specify 500+ (magnimultiple), 1000+ (kiliomultiple), or infinite / indefinable (astramultiple) headmates.

DID is a common example of a partitionary or multiple system.
