A protescutor is a headmate who would technically be a prosecutor/persecutor otherwise but they and/or their headmates don’t feel it totally fits or don’t like the connotations.[1]
Usually, a headmate who "isn’t as much of a jerk" as prosecutors/persecutors are seen as. Can also be used for headmates who are both persecutors and protectors, similar to a janusian.

This term was not created to insinuate that persecutors or prosecutors are all jerks or that they're bad people or that those who identify as either can't be trying to protect the system.
