when a headmate is dormant.. and this protocol is activated  (when the system deems it incredibly necessary to have that headmate there (when they can’t be) ), the dormant headmate stays dormant, but another soma of the same headmate fills in to take their place with the dormant headmates memories, until

that headmate comes out of dormancy


when the headmate is no longer dormant, the stand in headmate merges with their out of dormancy counterpart.
