Quoitin is a role replacement term for when a headmate doesn't want to share their role for whatever reason. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • having a role that they're uncomfortable with sharing,
  • having a role that they may feel is triggering for others to know, so they prefer to keep it more hidden,
  • not feeling like others need to know their role,
  • feeling like their role is irrelevant to others, and is not important for others to be aware of it.

Etymology[edit | edit source]

The term quoitin pays tribute to the terms quoigenic and praesigenic - one of which uses the same quoi- prefix, coming from the French word "quoi", meaning "what"[1], emphasizing uncertainty or unknown.
