A scout is a headmate that looks around the headspace for others headmates that are lost or hidden, or new locations.

They may be the only one capable of accessing restricted areas. Some may be able to fight back against internal threats as well.

They are more common in large systems (either in headmate count, headspace size, or both), but aren't exclusive.
