Method: singing for a period of time that allows the members of the system and the system overall- to feel a wave of calmness
Sirens are a type of soother that sing for periods of time to allow other members of the system or the system overall to feel a wave of calmness.

Content: the songs usually voice multiple thoughts of system members and so the song as a whole is “all over the place”
The songs can voice the thoughts of systems members, and the song can seem all over the place due to multiple thoughts from different members. They can be affected by whoever is closest to the fronting room or in front.
It may also voice thoughts of the singer as well

Duration & appearance: because of how long the singing can go on for, it may seem as if we’re (collectively as sirens) catatonic, we are- (results may vary by system and preference) when we are in this state of soothing, we can’t respond, so some of the other system members have to for us.
Sirens can sing for long periods of time and can seem catatonic. They can be, going into a state of unmoving and unresponsiveness whilst singing. They may have someone else do things for them while they are singing.

Design: the songs are sung according to whoever is most closest to the fronting room (or any term you find most fitting for your own experience)
They can be triggered to sing and soothe the system if the system is stressed, dissociating, negatively triggered, or any other possible negative emotion.

Flexibility: while singing, the singer is immobile, and catatonic, which means that another member of the system has to help do daily tasks (while the singer is still singing (this fades over the course of the “trying to do normal things while singing))
