An addiction holder is an alter who holds addictions for the system. This can include nicotine addiction, drug addiction, alcoholism, sex addiction, gambling addiction, and any other addictions/dependencies. The alter can hold withdrawal symptoms or other symptoms of addiction (mood swings, depression, paranoia, etc.)

An addiction holder may form from addiction-related trauma, or for other reasons.

An example of an addiction holder could be an alter who takes on the symptoms of drug addiction to prevent the rest of the system from feeling a dependency on drugs.
