An archivist is a headmate who is especially knowledgeable about events that happen to the system, both in the headspace and in the shared reality. They may also store and organize this information by using constructs in the headspace such as folders and files.

An archivist may also function as an internal self helper, gatekeeper or overseer. Some may be omniscient, but others are not. They may work in tandem with scouts and receptionists, as they can report new headmates to archivists.
