A director is a headmate who subliminally supplies other headmates with goals to pursue. As such, headmates who have been so directed may not realize it was not their own idea, but they can still decide to act otherwise. These directions may be given with good or ill intent, or even accidentally.

A director might be a non-fronting headmate, but not necessarily.
