A dissociation holder is a type of symptom holder which holds onto dissociative symptoms, often to prevent other headmates from dealing with the brunt of dissociation.

Though most common in traumagenic and dissociagenic systems, any system that experiences dissociation may have a dissociation holder.

Depersonalization holders handle depersonalization specifically.

Derealization holders handle derealization specifically.

DPDR holders handle the symptoms of depersonalization-derealization disorder.

Confuteration holders handle identity confusion and identity alteration[1] as distinct symptoms. While these are often seen as outsider observations of systemhood, this is not always the case.

Amnesia holders can be a subtype of dissociation holders when the amnesia in question is dissociative.
