Dysphoria is where a person feels substantial distress at a mismatch between their perceived or desired form with the one they actually have. In the context of plurality, this can affect headmates whose own physical forms do not match the system's body.

Reality dysphoria refers to the distress felt by a headmate — usually but not limited to introjects — who lacks the abilities or skills they had in their source. A common cause of dysphoria is exolimbs.
