OriginQueer community

An egg carton is a term for a system who either has not realized their plurality, or had not heard of the community therefore believing themselves to be otherwise neurotypical (e.g. "doesn't everyone hear their characters like that?").

Etymology[edit | edit source]

Taking inspiration from the transgender community's usage of Egg[1], egg carton has less to do with gender and more to do with the acknowledgement of multiple selves. A system may refer to shared egg carton memories, or an individual may be identified by friends as an egg carton in the same vein that trans folk may say they get "eggy-vibes" from someone.
