faceclaim ( n.)
Synonymsbodyclaim, voiceclaim
Applies toheadmates

A faceclaim is any face element that a system member uses (such as a face, a voice, etc.), either for out-of-system appearance (e.g, profile pictures and aesthetics), or for in-system appearance (e.g, an actor that looks similar enough to them, an audio clip that sounds similar to their voice style, etc.).

An audio clip that resembles a system member's voice may be called a voiceclaim.

Faceclaims may be just as important to a person as an introject's source.

It is not to be confused with soma, the form a member takes in headspace.

A mimic is a non-introject who can only appear as other members of a system, due to not having a visual or physical form of their own. This can lead them to appear exactly like the faceclaim a member is using.

A dopplurganger is a system member that has a similar/identical appearance of another person without sharing the same source or identity. As such, they may have faceclaimed the same elements from different sources (e.g, the face of the same actor, playing a different character from two different shows).

A vistroject is a non-introject whose entire appearance needs to be based on/connected to an external source, potentially due to aphantasia (an inability to see images in your head). As such, they may have faceclaimed the same elements from different sources as well.
