Faoigenic is a system or headmates that formed due to a subsystem in some way. This origin may be used to describe but is not limited to:
- System members fusing/merging making the headmates in the main system
- A Nested Subsystem
- A Subsplit system

This term comes from the word “faoi”, meaning “under” in Irish. Along with the suffix -genic, which describes system origins.
