Fascinagenic refers to a system, subsystem, headmate, etc that formed due to an intense interest in something. This may be a hyperfixation, a fascination, a special interest, or anything in that vein.

It comes from a combination of fascina-, from the term fascination, and -genic, denoting an origin. This term falls under the endogenic umbrella, but is not exclusive to endogenic systems. Similarly, while these interests may be a result of a neurodivergency, it is not exclusive to those with neurodivergencies.
This term was coined by the Firewood Collective subsystem of the Ironwood Collective on Tumblr.[2]
