A herald is a term for any frequent fronter in a system, coined specifically to avoid host-centrism, and the idea that any headmate is better or more important than another.

This term is a freely self-assignable term, able to be used by anyone who fronts frequently, wants to front frequently, or otherwise feels that it fits them. A system can have any number of heralds, and anyone can choose to be one or not be one.

The term is adapted from the novel series Heralds of Valdemar, which heavily features traveling heroes known as heralds.
