Isolated lore is knowledge a headmate has about the system or other headmates without being able to recall where this information came from, why they know it, or why/if it is true.

This may occur for example due to memory being partially shared, partially hidden behind a curtain, or partially blocked by another headmate such as a gatekeeper. The headmate recalling this lore may be convinced of its validity or be confused and doubtful.

This term is related to the psychological concept of source amnesia (not relating to source) where information can be recalled without recollection of its origin.

Isolated lore may occur in an atrium system when a fronting member accesses part of their own internal memory while some of it remains inaccessible.

If the memory itself cannot be accessed directly but there is some level of access, this may be called implicit lore.
