Lorekeeper[edit | edit source]

A Lorekeeper is a headmate that is knowledgeable of most, if not all, of the past actions of their headmates. This can be pertaining to past interactions, altercations, and relationships, specifically between in-system headmates, as well as tasks that headmates have carried out, or even the history of a headmate from before arriving in the system.

Lorekeeper is a term used to describe a more specific type of Archivist.

Synonyms archivist (n., adj.), memory holder (n., adj.)

Term Origins[edit | edit source]

Lore is defined as "the body of knowledge, especially of a traditional, anecdotal, or popular nature, on a particular subject"[1]

History[edit | edit source]

Lorekeeper was coined by the Saplings in April 2023 to describe a brainmade little.

Related Terms[edit | edit source]

A Lorekeeper is similar to an Archivist or ISH in the sense that both are knowledgeable about system events. However, where an Archivist might keep files and organize this knowledge, a Lorekeeper holds the knowledge within their memory, similar to a Memory Holder. They may be seen working alongside Gatekeepers or Receptionists to help learn about new, old, or returning headmates.
