A mesoplex is a group within a system that is more distinct or larger than a sideplex but less than a hemiplex. Mesoplexes may be a collection of sideplexes, sparplexes, subplexes, hemisystems, mesosystems, sidesystems, sparsystems, subsystems, and/or similar groups.

A mesoplex is a type of sisasystem, and may be part of a sisasystem cluster, which is called a Mesoplex cluster, or a machnah-maalruk in the Fhinanara-kah terminology system (a mesoplex is called a machnah-maal in that system).
A mesoplex is sometimes, but not necessarily, a variety of polymer.
