A martyr, or offering, is a member that will put themselves in dangerous situations, usually to help or protect the system. This may usually be in the shared reality/meatspace.

Martyrs may act out in ways that get the system in trouble, such as running away, self harm, engaging in addictions, or saying or doing irrational things. They may also take punishments for the system, or front during stressful or dangerous situations. Sometimes, but not always, martyrs will push away or lock out other system members while doing these things in an attempt to protect others from the consequences.

Martyrs can be any other role alongside being a martyr and depending on the severity of their actions, may be considered a persecutor. Martyrs do not do what they do out of malicious or spiteful intent, but instead doing what they do to protect the system.
