History[edit | edit source]

Plurality is considered inherently neurodivergent by the wider community, so the idea for neurodivergent plural isn’t new and can’t be traced to one point.

The idea for a neurodivergent plural symbol was proposed by NeonWebb in the Pluralpedia Discord Server on December 29, 2021, at 12:52 am. They were inspired by the plural queer symbol and the plural autistic symbol, and wanted a symbol to represent plurals who are neurodivergent.

The symbol was inspired by the infinity symbol being used to represent neurodivergent people. It shows two infinity symbols crossing each other in a way that is meant to be of a similar (but not the same) effect as the plural rings.
