A para is any character in the daydreams of someone who is an immersive daydreamer, neuronarrator, or has Maladaptive Daydreaming Disorder.

Paras that become self-aware/sentient can also be called a prevera and said to have a parative origin. Vertitbonds are between paras and preveras, having more autonomy than the former but less than the latter.
A para that is the point of view for the daydream is called a parames, and a para that is a version of the daydreamer is called a paraself.
Paras typically exist in the paracosm, or the internal world of a daydreamer.
