A ping is a thought of a headmate which is a small twinge, or "ping," of pure thought, which is not a full thought or words.

Any headmate can ping. Examples:

  • The system has many people fronting and a headmate tries saying or thinking something, but all that comes out is a ping.
  • A headmate says or thinks something, but all that comes out is a ping.
  • A headmate waking up from dormancy, unable to say much so all they think or say are pings until they can finally think or speak.
