Polychimera is a term that describes polyplural systems that have large median regions and large multiple regions without large regions that are mediple, as well as 100 or more system members. They may have complex structuring as well.
Polychimera is not to be confused with polymediple, wherein systems have large regions that are mediple.

As a poly- term, polychimera is related to other terms such as polyplural, polyfaceted, polymultiple, and polymediple.
The poly- prefix may be exchanged for the magni-, kilio-, or astra- prefixes to specify 500+ (magnichimera), 1000+ (kiliochimera), or infinite/indefinable (astrachimera) headmates.
The term also has some, but generally only historical and etymological, relationship to polyfragmented.
