Proditiogenic describes a system or system member formed from trauma resulting from betrayal. Signs that a system, a member, or a group of members were formed or re-discovered in this manner is assessing if the system or system member(s) had a history of being betrayed. A multitude of events can be interpreted as betrayal, such as being an introject becoming a member of a system in the wake of being written out of their home universe via being sent/killed off for merely plot reasons, or it can include external world conflicts like the loss of a support system or having employment terminated by what was once thought to be a trusted employer. This can also extend to subsystems or other members spurred by internal betrayal among the system.

Proditiogenic systems and/or system members can form or be re-discovered in any system regardless of origin.

History of the Term[edit | edit source]

Proditiogenic is a portmanteau of proditione and -genic. Proditione is latin and literally translates to the word betrayal. This term was coined by The Etheridge Collective.
