A quoisystem is a group of headmates that are unsure or not caring about whether their part of the system is a subsystem, sidesystem, layer, cluster or otherwise.

The term may be used when this feels too complicated to figure out, seems unimportant, feels impossible, or feels as if it shouldn't matter.

History[edit | edit source]

The term uses the quoi- prefix, which is derived from the French word "quoi" approximately meaning "what"[1], emphasizing uncertainty or unknown.

The term was inspired by the quoigenic label, containing the same prefix, specifically for parts of a system that know they are not fully connected with the main system, or are more connected with a certain part of it but don't want to or don't know what to label this experience.

Coiner[edit | edit source]

The term quoisystem was coined on August 29, 2021, by Tumblr user icarusoblivion[2] and thenelsonsystem#0156 on Discord.

The flag was created on the same day by Discord user thenelsonsystem#0156. The flag design took inspiration from 2 variants of the flag.
