Ranked Consciousness refers to when more than one system member is conscious and fronting at a time, but there is a hierarchy to how decisions are made.[1]

Ranked Consciousness does not mean one system member outranks the other all the time, or that there is a hierarchy within the system, as the ranks can be different everytime members are co-fronting.

The terms for individual ranks are Primary Fronter, Secondary Fronter, Tertiary Fronter, etc.
