A reset is when a headmate initiates a reset on themselves. It may look like a shard coming from a headmate going into another one, causing the first headmate to slowly fade until they no longer exist in the system, or are stored by means of a safety protocol for archival purposes.

It may also look like their own shard going into a resevoir for safe keeping so that the headmate that is doing the reset on themselves can 'get a new start' within the system and in the external world. this is how some systems cope and how some system take accountabnility for thei actions, but 'cutting off' that part of themselves that they do not like for the sake of the others involved.
