A sentispace (shorthand for sentient headspace) is a headspace that is alive. It may respond to headmates' requests and be able to perform specific headmate roles by itself, like landscaping, terraforming, creating ephemeral NPCs, or even leading new splits or walk-ins to gatekeepers.

Sentispaces may have both verbal and non-verbal ways of communicating with specific groups of, or all, headmates.

Subterms[edit | edit source]

Many type of sentient headspaces exist. Here is a list of subterms that have been coined:

  • A variaspace is a sentispace that was once empty and then started to constantly change its locations and appearance after a system formed in it.
  • A regulator is an umbrella term to describe sentient headspaces who are able to regulate their own headspace(s) through specific abilities. There are many subterms for this roles (e.g, spawn-regulator, space-architect, protective sentispace, space-soother, summoner, etc).
  • A canvaspace is a sentispace whose purpose is to be artistic. It has two modalities: either it is an inactive blank canvas (blankspace), or it is an active work in progress (artfulspace).
  • A mimic-space is a sentispace that changes the way it appears to imitate another headspace that exists/has existed. Similarly, a substitute-space is a sentispace whose role is to act in place of another headspace(s), meaning that they temporarily/permanently copy or act in place for them.

Related Terms[edit | edit source]

A sentient structure refers to a headspace where only parts of it are sentient (instead of the entire headspace).

See sentient headspace terms for more related terms.

History[edit | edit source]

The term and its flag were coined by Tumblr user solsticesalon (Reminiscent).[1]

The first subterms and their flags were coined by Pluralpedia user Oceanic-Lanterns. They integrated as much as possible of the original flag of solsticesalon in the background of their term flags. This way, their terms are also subterms in their flags.
