Sexual protector has several defitions:

  • a headmate who protects the system by trying to prevent sexual trauma from occuring in the first place.
  • a headmate who fronts during sexual situations (traumatic or not) to protect the system. These sexual protectors might take sexual abuse or attempt to instigate sexual abuse in an attempt to feel more in control of the situation. They may also front to protect the rest of the system from witnessing sexual abuse, which can include occurance both online and in person.

These headmates likely experienced sexual abuse abuse directly or hold memories of past abuse.[1] Sexual protectors may be timid, compliant, and never fight back as to limit/avoid any punishment and thus protect the body from harm.[2]

Emotional sexual protectors might help headmates after sexual situations. These situations can vary from experiencing sexual abuse firsthand or viewing sexual abuse online or in person.
