Innosex is a descriptor for a system member who is intersex in headspace when the body is perisex. A system member cannot be innosex and intersex.

History[edit | edit source]

This term is meant to allow headmates to describe their internal experience without implying that the system's lived experience in the outerworld is intersex.

This term was coined to be plural-exclusive.

Flag Description[edit | edit source]

The coiner has provided a description for a hypothetical innosex flag:

  • Background: A gradient of pastel colors, transitioning from lavender to pale turquoise, symbolizing the harmony between the intersex gender identity and the body's assigned gender.
  • Symbol: In the center, there's a unique symbol combining elements of:
    • A Butterfly: Representing transformation, growth, and the fluidity of the gender identity.
    • A DNA Double Helix: Symbolizing the body's biological characteristics.
    • A Yin and Yang Symbol: Signifying balance and unity between the dual aspects of the identity. This combination highlights the idea of transformation, genetic diversity, and harmonious coexistence.
  • Border: A thin, darker shade of lavender encircling the central design to represent the protective and encompassing nature of the gender identity within the body.
