A substitute is a headmate whose role is to act in place of another headmate(s). This can be temporarily copying the subject’s, acting in place for them, and/or pretending to be them. [1]

A substitute may also act as a masker or posier. Internally, they may present as a mimic or soma stealer or as themselves.
