A system shift is a rotation of sisasystems taking turns on the position of primary system, giving the other system(s) time to rest. It takes place when the main system needs downtime to heal and recover from residue resulting from a previous system collapse/wobble/trauma/other.
This may be an indefinite change to the main functioning of the system, depending on what the system (as a whole) may need at the time.
